History: Established in 1995
What A Dish began when Chef Cathy McKnight found an abundance of her friends requesting her delicious foods for their parties and events. After a very successful ten year run, Cathy sold it to Jordan Richey who continued to develop the kitchen and the menus and infusing them with his passion for food. In the mean time, Chef Cathy joined Beachfire restaurants as their executive chef and celebration artist. She also taught cooking classes at Villa Cucina in San Clemente while solidifying her reputation as a dynamic force in the local culinary scene and being nominated as one of the top ten female chefs in Orange County.
Jordan and Cathy have stayed close over the years and in June 2010 they decided to join forces and evolve What A Dish into the premier café, catering and event company in Southern California. Their combined experience and joyful pursuit of the finest foods to bring to your table will delight your palate. Jordan and Cathy are committed to the ideals of the Slow Food Movement, launched almost a quarter century ago by Carlo Petrini in response to the globalization of hyper-processed foods and its effects on independent agricultural communities. Behind this campaign, strong networks of small farmers, food producers, and consumers are sustained while promoting the preservation of organic farming practices and local culinary traditions.
